INTERACTION

lequel ? "

"The vacillating reality is a source of questions: what density, what materiality? To account for this, develop systems using the mirror. The resulting artwork plays on perception and provokes mirages and illusions.
... there is no reality faithful to appearances - the spectator participates in the creation of the artwork from scattered fragments that he gathers, consciously or unconsciously, like a rebus that would finally make sense. But which one?"

LUXIENNE

Luxienne was created in 2006 in the context of Hélène Lhote's exhibition at Electrorama. It is the synthesis between the windmills that glazed the landscapes of her childhood and 17th century Spanish lanterns where a fan of mirrors, placed behind a candle, exalted the light.

H.L. 2003

"When we venture into this game, we come to wonder about ourselves, what we perceive, and the artwork we thought we understood slips away. The disorder sets in, all the more so as the reflection, being a perfect imitation of the real, restores it to us inverted. To experience what he sees, to fix his perception and to stabilize his impressions, the spectator tries from all sides until he wants to touch, but the mirror blocks.  Called to the rescue, the other senses declare forfeit and the vision which thought itself sovereign staggers: illusion and vanity."
